BLOG: POLIÇA NEW SINGLE TIFF FEAT. JUSTIN VERNON

This band just made some sharp impact on me. With the news of their latest single featuring Justin Vernon, I've spent the last hour checking them out. And when I check something out, I'm like a fucking detective, especially when I'm so drawn.

A group formed in 2011, Minnesota, their debut material showcases gorgeous sounds of rich tone, rhythm and synths that I've grown to love so much in recent months. I instantly bought the first album "Give You The Ghost" on CD just now and I'm already excited for the second which is starting to build up as we speak, in preparation for a release later this year. But as mentioned (and embedded) above, they've collaborated with none other than Justin Vernon for the new track, who although may have called time on the Bon Iver project, is showing more musical extroversion than ever (what with his newly formed blues-infused group The Shouting Matches, whose debut album of their own came out only today).

Working with such talents speaks volumes alone, but the music is truly something amazing. It's not often I so quickly get this rush of excitement upon first listens. I watched their Coachella set too and they really are a quality artist, bursting with fresh ideas. You too can watch it, this the clip for their performance of "Amongster", track number one off the LP.

DIARY: BON IVER LIVE AT WEMBLEY ARENA

Last night was the night I had been waiting a year and a half for. Bon Iver, live. I've watched their performances over before, but to be there in the same room, feeling every vibration, every movement, the passionate sound of every instrument was simply magical. I may have been sat at the back but the experience was one I couldn't be happier to have been a part of.

MAG: BON IVER BETH/REST OFFICIAL VIDEO

The fourth single off the self-titled second album by Bon Iver, undoubtedly my favourite album of 2011, has had its own official video released today. "Beth/Rest" is given visuals directed by Dan Huiting and Justin Vernon himself, it tells the story of a couple meant for each other, set in a suitably mysterious and magical woodland. It's sweet.

DIARY: BON IVER LIVE IN NOVEMBER

A very spontaneous purchase it was, but I'm fucking ecstatic to be attending Bon Iver's live performance in November. It's true my seat is at the very far corner of the very back of the arena, but I really don't care. These guys live and breathe music, I'm just anticipating pure magic.

MAG: KANYE WEST LOST IN THE WORLD VIDEO

Only a year and a half on from the release of his fifth studio album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy", which actually turned into one of my favourites by the hip hop superstar, the music video for "Lost In The World" has been released. Made by Ruth Hogben of SHOWstudio, the black and white visuals provide a strong, impactful aesthetic to the tune, which opens with the soft and beautiful auto-tuned acapella by Bon Iver's Justin Vernon. Once again, this one's for full screen and HD viewing. It very much strengthens an already brilliant track.

MAG: BON IVER ON THE ELLEN SHOW

After their Coachella set, Bon Iver have now performed on The Ellen Show, playing "Towers" and "Michicant" to delightful execution. Every live performance they offer something different, always adding multiple layers and textures to their already wholesome sound, which can only be done by real musicians. All the while though, it's amazing every time and quite simply breathtaking. Here are the two beautiful clips from their latest performance.
