DIARY: JAPANESE MAGAZINE PURCHASES AGAIN

Another handful of publications from Japan, including the latest February issues of Popeye and Casa Brutus, plus the special Brutus issue in collaboration with Muji from July 2012, which I luckily found in one of their larger stores. They have it on display at London's Oxford Street shop and I've wanted to get my hands on it ever since. Entitled "Muji & Me", it focusses specifically on the unbranded brand as it would in any other magazine issue, speaking to the people behind the work, presenting the projects and products via insightful essays and lush photography with, of course, the beautiful Japanese fluidity in publication design. Come round and I'll show you some time. Finally on the list of purchases is a quarterly interiors title Sumu, which is new to me, but currently on its 48th issue, it looks wonderful on the face of it. I look forward to flicking through them all; I'm buzzing.

DIARY: MUJI JAPAN PURCHASES

Just a couple of small purchases from Muji in Japan, with hundreds of products we're not so fortunate to have access to here in the UK. A nice enamel mug for personal use and a stainless steel pen tray, just because. I actually spent a bit more money in their clothing department, adding to my basket a denim jacket and some exclusive magazine titles. Again, just because.

DIARY: MUJI WASHED CANVAS BACKPACK

I've missed out on the winter sales this year, but I picked up this neat little backpack from Muji for a bargain £15 the other day. In a washed white heavy canvas and just the right amount of leather detailing, it's the perfect bag I'd been looking for as I looked to provide more permanent alternatives to my regularly used open tote bags. Good purchase wouldn't you say?

DIARY: MUJI TIN CANDLE

As I continue my not at all intended life assignment that is to purchase every Muji item available, this week I finally purchased myself a fragrant candle. I'd been wanting one for ages and the workload over the past couple of weeks has convinced me to go for it (not like it's a big deal). I chose the soft note of the Nashi tin candle and it's honestly doing wonders. Perfectly sweet and refreshingly relaxing, I can't put it out.

DIARY: NEW ROOM ACCESSORY

Living at home for the moment, my bedroom-cum-study has a new accessory. Well, it's not actually that new, I bought my shelf from Muji a few months ago but never put it up. Until this week that is.

Perfectly easing into a little space beside my pre-existing shelving unit, it's added some much needed storage flexibility, which I've taken full advantage of. Books, magazines, CDs, sweatshirts and lamp have all found a new home as my room takes an ever-so-slight revamp.

DIARY: MUJI BOOK PURCHASE

I bought this a few weeks back, the Muji book by Rizzoli. Providing an insight into the brand's philosophy and presented with some beautiful photographs, it's the ultimate bookshelf material. Funnily enough I got myself a Muji shelf for it to rest on too. Yeahhh.
